MOULTONBOROUGH — The Lakers pulled it out the victory with a pair of doubles wins, using a nice team effort to cover a pair of missing starters.

Inter-Lakes' Taylor Woodaman and Galya Martin edged MA's Kendall Graupner and Amanda Hayden, 8-5, in No. 2 doubles to square the match. The Lakers moved to 5-1 in Class M-S when Antonia Lilley and Ari Gunderson topped Mell Godin and Morgan Diltz, 8-4, in the deciding No. 3 doubles match. The Panthers dropped to 0-8 with their third 5-4 loss of the season.

The Lakers got singles wins from No. 1 Ally Peverly (8-4 over Taylor Childs), No. 3 Martin (8-3 over Graupner) and No. 5 Ari Gunderson (8-5 over Mell Godin). MA countered with wins from No. 2 Madelyn Maroun (9-7 over Woodaman), No. 4 Hayden (8-2 over Lilley) and No. 6 Diltz (8-3 over Kelly Ainsworth, who made her varsity debut).

MA had an early edge in doubles when Childs and Maroun beat Peverly and Ainsworth, 8-4, in the No. 1 doubles match.

Gilford 5, Inter-Lakes 4

MEREDITH — The Golden Eagles took four of six singles matches and picked up the decisive victory at No. 3 doubles to remain unbeaten in Class M-S action Monday. Gilford is now 4-0. I-Lakes fell to 3-1.

Olivia Broderick picked up a key victory at No. 5 singles, winning 9-8 (7-2 tiebreaker) over Antonia Lilly. Broderick than teamed with Sarah Anderson for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles over Lilly and Ariana Gunderson for the win.

Gilford also picked up singles wins from No. 2 Charleyne Panner (8-2 over Amanda Parks), No. 3 Olivia Searle (8-2 over Taylor Woodaman), and No. 6 Anderson (8-6 over Gunderson). The Eagles came up short at No. 1 Cheralynn Corsack (8-4 to Ally Peverly) and No. 4 Jen Daviault (8-5 to Galya Martin).

In doubles, Corsack and Panner dropped a 7-9 decision at No. 1 to Peverly and Parks; Searle and Daviault fell 5-8 on court two to Woodaman and Martin.

The Lakers, who missed key freshman Mikaela O'Neil in the match due to injury.
